Editorial policy — how we research and verify shipping data

Our editorial mission

Parcel Guide publishes factual, independently researched information about sending parcels within Europe and worldwide. Our goal is to help individuals and e-commerce businesses understand carrier options, customs rules and shipping costs — without marketing bias.

We do not accept payment for editorial coverage. Carriers and services are mentioned because they are relevant to the reader, not because they pay us.

How we source data

Every price, weight limit, delivery time and customs threshold on this site comes from one of these primary sources:

• Official carrier websites — public price calculators, tariff PDFs, and product pages (DPD, PPL, Packeta, Czech Post, Slovak Post, DHL, Eurosender, Sendcloud, Shipito)
• EU legislation — customs thresholds, VAT rules (IOSS/OSS), CN22/CN23 requirements from EUR-Lex and the European Commission
• National customs authorities — Czech Customs Administration, Slovak Financial Administration, HMRC (UK), CBP (USA)
• Direct carrier communication — where public data is ambiguous, we contact carriers directly and note the source date

We never copy data from other comparison sites. Every number has a traceable primary source.

How often data is updated

Carrier tariffs change 1–3 times per year. We update data using this schedule:

• Country pages — reviewed monthly; each page shows a "Data verified" date
• Carrier pages — reviewed quarterly or when a major tariff change is announced
• Customs thresholds / VAT rules — reviewed at every EU budget cycle and on legislative updates
• Nightly automated build — the site rebuilds every night so "last modified" timestamps stay current

If you find outdated data, contact us and we'll correct it within 24 hours.

Affiliate disclosure

Parcel Guide earns revenue through affiliate partnerships. When you click a link to a partner service and sign up or make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you.

Affiliate relationships do not influence which carrier we recommend in our guides or our Smart Advisor tool. Carrier recommendations are determined by the shipment parameters (weight, destination, deadline) and current tariffs — not by commercial relationships.

Where a recommended carrier has no affiliate programme (e.g. Packeta, Czech Post, Slovak Post), we link to them directly without any tracking code.

AI-assisted content

Some content on this site is researched, structured or drafted with AI assistance (Claude, by Anthropic). All AI-generated content is reviewed, fact-checked against primary sources and approved by our human editor before publication.

AI tools are used to accelerate drafting and translation (Czech ↔ Slovak ↔ English) — not to replace editorial judgement. Data figures are never accepted from AI output without independent primary-source verification.

Corrections policy

When we make a factual error, we correct it promptly and note the correction inline where significant. We do not silently delete incorrect content — corrections are transparent.

To report an error: contact us with the URL, the incorrect data and a link to the correct primary source. We'll acknowledge within 1 business day.
