    Customs

Switzerland is outside the EU (and outside the EEA). Every shipment requires a customs declaration. Swiss VAT at 8.1% applies on goods valued over 62 CHF. Customs duty applies above 300 CHF. The recipient pays customs charges and VAT directly to the courier at delivery or via prepayment.

    Required documents

    • CN22 is a simplified customs declaration for parcels up to 2 kg and €270 in value. Completed at the post office or generated by the carrier. Without CN22, the parcel may be held at customs.
    • CN23 is a full customs declaration for parcels over 2 kg or above €270. You must list each item's description, quantity, weight and customs value. Issued at the post office or generated by the carrier.
    • Proforma invoice
    • ZDP (Additional Data Post) for certain product categories

    • Drugs and controlled substances

    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

Does the recipient in Switzerland pay VAT?

What documents are required for Switzerland?

At minimum CN22 (simplified customs declaration) for shipments up to 300 CHF, or CN23 with a proforma invoice for higher values. Commercial shipments require a detailed goods description, HS code, and country of origin. Food and cosmetics may require additional certificates.

Which carrier should I use for Switzerland?

For speed and certainty: DHL Express (2 days, automated customs handling). For lower cost: postal services economy or DPD/Eurosender. Note: Packeta does not deliver directly to Switzerland.
