Iraq has no standard VAT system — instead a 15% general sales tax applies to imported goods. Customs rates follow the Iraqi schedule (0–40% by category). Shipments up to ~50 USD (~€48) are generally duty-free. GDPC (General Directorate of Customs) manages clearance. DHL and FedEx operate in Baghdad and Erbil (Kurdistan). The security situation is unstable outside the main cities — shipments beyond Baghdad and Erbil are very risky. Label shipments in detail in Arabic.

- CN22 is a simplified customs declaration for parcels up to 2 kg and €270 in value. Completed at the post office or generated by the carrier. Without CN22, the parcel may be held at customs.
