DGD (Direction Générale des Douanes) manages clearance in Bamako. Mali is landlocked — shipments arrive via ports in Abidjan (Côte d'Ivoire), Dakar (Senegal) or Cotonou (Benin), extending delivery times. Security situation in northern regions has been critical since 2012 (Islamist groups). DHL covers Bamako.
