Customs and VAT for Tanzania
Tanzania is a member of the East African Community (EAC) and applies the EAC Common External Tariff (0–35%). The de minimis is very low: shipments up to 50,000 TZS (~€18) are typically processed on a simplified basis. 18% VAT and duty apply to virtually every parcel. Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) manages clearance in Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro Airport.
