    Customs

    Tanzania is a member of the East African Community (EAC) and applies the EAC Common External Tariff (0–35%). The de minimis is very low: shipments up to 50,000 TZS (~€18) are typically processed on a simplified basis. 18% VAT and duty apply to virtually every parcel. Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) manages clearance in Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro Airport.

    • CN22 is a simplified customs declaration for parcels up to 2 kg and €270 in value. Completed at the post office or generated by the carrier. Without CN22, the parcel may be held at customs.
