Shipito vs MyUS vs Planet Express vs Stackry: US Forwarders Compared

Four US parcel forwarders compared: membership, per-parcel fees, consolidation, storage and sales tax. Price lists checked on 9 October 2026, with a three-parcel example.

· · · schedule 7 min read

There are dozens of US forwarding services and at first glance they all do the same thing: give you an American address, receive your parcel and send it to Europe. The differences are in what you pay per parcel, what you pay per month and how long your goods can sit in the warehouse. I took the four best known and ran them through the same example, because price lists side by side do not tell you much.

Shipito, MyUS, Planet Express and Stackry in one table

Shipito, MyUS, Planet Express and Stackry differ mainly in how they charge: two have a free account plus paid Premium, one has no membership at all and one is built on a monthly flat fee. Prices are from the services’ websites as of 9 October 2026.

ServiceMembershipFee per parcelConsolidationFree storage
Shipito, free account$0$3.25$5.50 per parcel7 days
Shipito Premium$10 a month / $60 a year$2.25$3.25 per parcel45 days

Planet Express Premium$10 a month / $50 a year$2 on dispatch$5 + $2 per parcel60 days
Stackry$0$2$3 per parcel45 days
MyUS Premium$9.99 a monthincludedincluded30 days

A note on MyUS: I could not get its website to load on the day of writing, so the figures come from its public pages as captured by a search engine. Treat them with caution and check them with MyUS directly before you sign up.

What handling three parcels costs

Three parcels combined into one shipment cost roughly $10 to $26 in fees depending on the service, and that is before you pay for shipping. I count receiving, consolidation and one month of membership where there is one.

  • Shipito, free account: 3 × 3.25 + 3 × 5.50 = $26.25
  • Shipito Premium: 3 × 2.25 + 3 × 3.25 = $16.50, plus $10 membership
  • Planet Express Premium: 5 + 3 × 2 = $11 for consolidation, plus $10 membership. One dispatch a month is free of the fee on Premium.
  • Stackry: 3 × 2 + 3 × 3 = $15, no membership
  • MyUS Premium: $9.99 membership, handling included

On paper MyUS and Stackry come out best. But careful, this is the smaller part of the bill. The main item is international shipping, and each service has negotiated its own rates, so the same parcel can cost tens of dollars more with one than with another. Before you decide, enter your real dimensions and weight into each service’s shipping calculator. For a rough idea of what the crossing costs, see the overview of shipping costs from the USA to Europe.

Sales tax: where you can buy without the US tax

You avoid US sales tax by using a warehouse in a state that does not charge it, meaning Oregon or New Hampshire, or a Florida warehouse set up for export. On pricier goods this does more than all the fees put together, and yet hardly anyone looks at it when picking a service.

  • Shipito: California (taxed) for the free account, tax-free Oregon with Premium only.
  • Planet Express: California taxed, Oregon and Florida tax-free.
  • Stackry: a warehouse in New Hampshire, where no sales tax is charged.
  • MyUS: based in Sarasota, Florida. Check how tax works there for the particular shop.

On a $700 phone, California tax comes to about $66. The exact effect on the total is shown in the examples in the guide to the true cost of buying from the USA.

Storage and consolidation

The length of free storage decides whether you manage to combine several purchases into one shipment. Shipito’s free account gives you 7 days, Planet Express 10, MyUS 30 and Stackry 45. With Premium, Shipito gives 45 days and Planet Express 60.

Seven or ten days is not enough for consolidation. Honestly, it is close to useless. One shop dispatching a week late is all it takes, and you are paying storage or sending the first parcel on its own. And Planet Express does not offer consolidation on the free account at all. If you order from several shops, you need either Premium or a service with long storage as standard. Here Stackry, with 45 days and no membership, has the edge.

Assisted purchase and other services

Assisted purchase, where the service buys the goods for you, is offered by both Shipito and Planet Express. It is useful with shops that will not accept a foreign card.

  • Shipito: $8.50 + 4.3% payment processing + 8% commission.
  • Planet Express: $5 + 7% of the total price.

On goods worth $200 that makes $33.10 with Shipito and $19 with Planet Express. Stackry does not list assisted purchase in its price list, and for MyUS I could not verify it. Stackry, on the other hand, includes cover for up to $100 of declared value and one photo of the parcel as standard, while Shipito includes 1 to 3 photos of the outside.

Which forwarding service to choose

None of the four is the cheapest for everyone; it depends on how often you ship and how many parcels. This is how I would split it:

  • One parcel now and then: Planet Express or Stackry. The lowest per-parcel fee without a membership.
  • A few parcels from different shops, in bursts: Stackry. No membership and 45 days in the warehouse.
  • Pricier electronics: anyone with a tax-free warehouse. Shipito Premium, Planet Express or Stackry.
  • The shop will not take your card: Shipito or Planet Express for assisted purchase. Planet Express is the cheaper one here.
  • Regular shopping, many parcels a month: the MyUS flat fee or Shipito Premium, whichever gives you the better shipping price.

One more thing you should know. This site is a Shipito affiliate and earns a commission on orders placed through our link. We have no active partnership with MyUS, Planet Express or Stackry. The figures come from public price lists, and I did not adjust the order of the recommendations above to suit the commission.

A detailed breakdown of Shipito’s fees is in the Shipito review and pricing, and the Shipito and Planet Express pair gets a closer look in the separate Shipito vs Planet Express comparison. Duty and VAT are the same whichever service you use; see the guide to customs and VAT from the USA.
